This Refund and Cancellation Policy explains how you can cancel your Code-Build subscription and request refunds.

1. Cancellation Policy

1.1 How to Cancel

You can cancel your subscription at any time with no cancellation fees:

Self-Service Cancellation:

  1. Log into your Code-Build account
  2. Go to DashboardBilling Settings
  3. Click "Cancel Subscription"
  4. Confirm cancellation

Email Cancellation:

  • Email: support@code-build.com
  • Subject: "Cancel Subscription"
  • Include: Your account email address
  • We'll process within 1 business day

1.2 What Happens When You Cancel

Immediate Effect:

  • No further charges will be made
  • Your subscription remains active until the end of the current billing period
  • You retain full access until the paid period expires

After Paid Period Ends:

  • Your workspace becomes read-only
  • You can still export your code and files
  • Your data is retained for 30 days
  • After 30 days, your workspace and data may be permanently deleted

2. Refund Policy

2.1 Free Trial

Free trials require no payment. You can cancel anytime during the trial period with no charges.

2.2 Plus Plan (£4.99/month)

No Refunds for Monthly Subscriptions:

  • Monthly subscriptions are non-refundable
  • You may cancel at any time to prevent future charges
  • Access continues until the end of your current billing month
  • No pro-rata refunds for partial months

Example:

  • You subscribe on January 15 and pay £4.99
  • You cancel on January 25
  • You retain access until February 15
  • No refund issued

2.3 Pro Plan (£50/year)

14-Day Money-Back Guarantee:

Under UK Consumer Rights Act 2015, you may cancel and receive a full refund if:

  • You request cancellation within 14 days of your initial purchase
  • This applies to first-time purchases only (not renewals)

After 14 Days:

  • Annual subscriptions are non-refundable
  • You may cancel to prevent auto-renewal
  • Access continues until the end of your paid year
  • No pro-rata refunds for unused months

2.4 How to Request a Refund

If you're eligible for a refund (Pro plan within 14 days):

Subject: "Refund Request"
Include:

  • Your account email address
  • Order/transaction ID (if available)
  • Reason for refund (helps us improve)

Processing Time:

  • Refund requests reviewed within 2 business days
  • Approved refunds processed within 5-10 business days
  • Refunds issued to the original payment method

3. Exceptions and Special Cases

3.1 Technical Issues

If you experience significant service outages or technical problems, contact us immediately at support@code-build.com. We'll investigate and may offer credits or refunds at our discretion. Must be reported within 7 days of the issue.

3.2 Duplicate Charges

If you're charged twice due to an error, contact us with transaction details. We'll refund the duplicate charge immediately.

3.3 Account Violations

No refunds if:

  • Your account is terminated for violating our Terms of Service
  • You engaged in fraudulent activity
  • You violated our Acceptable Use Policy

4. Auto-Renewal Reminder

All paid subscriptions automatically renew unless you cancel before the renewal date.

To Avoid Unwanted Charges:

  • Check your renewal date in Billing Settings
  • Cancel at least 24 hours before renewal
  • You'll receive an email reminder 7 days before renewal

Email Reminders:

  • Plus (Monthly): Reminder sent 7 days before each monthly renewal
  • Pro (Annual): Reminder sent 30 days before annual renewal

5. Data Retention After Cancellation

30-Day Grace Period:

  • Your workspace and files are retained for 30 days after cancellation
  • You can reactivate your subscription anytime during this period
  • All data and settings will be restored

After 30 Days:

  • Your workspace is permanently deleted
  • We cannot recover your data
  • You must create a new account if you return

Data Export:

  • You can download your projects anytime before deletion
  • We recommend exporting data before cancelling
  • Contact support if you need assistance with data export
